Spicy Marinated Pan-Fried Chicken Breast (Versatile High-Protein Recipe)

Ingredients List
Chicken breast 1 lb (can be substituted with chicken thighs, shrimp, or any protein source)
Seasoning blend: Garlic powder 2 tsp, Onion powder 2 tsp, Paprika 2 tsp, 2.5 teaspoons cumin powder, 3/4 teaspoon oregano powder, 1.5 teaspoons black pepper, 4.75 teaspoons mild chili powder
Salt to taste (adjust according to preference)
2 tablespoons cooking oil
Preparation Steps
First, mix all dry spices thoroughly to create a spicy seasoning blend. Set aside (mixing ahead allows flavors to meld).
Rinse chicken breasts and pat dry. Place in a container, sprinkle with spice blend and salt to taste. Massage with hands to coat evenly.
Seal container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. For richer flavor, marinate overnight if time permits.
Heat 2 tbsp cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat until warm (you should feel warmth when holding your hand above the pan).
Add the marinated chicken breasts and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
Key step: Before serving, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the chicken. It must reach at least 165°F (74°C) to ensure it is fully cooked.
Tip: Avoid flipping frequently during cooking to prevent toughening. For juicier results, cover the pan and let rest for 1-2 minutes after cooking. Store any remaining seasoning powder in an airtight container for future use on grilled meats or roasted vegetables.
